How gaze behaviour contributes to individual differences in cognitive task performance – scanpath analysis

University of Lincoln, January 9-14, 2017

Hosted and led by Drs. Jinghao Xue & Kun Guo and attended by UCL researchers Ms Rui Zhu, Ms Ziyu Wang and Ms Yurong Ling

This grant writing workshop aimed to promote cross-disciplinary understanding of current challenges and potential computational solutions for analysing spatio-temporal eye movement information.  During 5-day intensive discussion, researchers from psychology (Lincoln) and statistical science (UCL) have updated our knowledge of recent research advances in each other’s field, and developed a novel approach of applying deep learning statistics to analyse face-viewing scanpath associated with expression categorization task. A research grant application will be submitted to the Wellcome Trust Seed Awards in Science in March 2017.
